Some Things I Found Interesting

- After Buenos Aires, the second most popular foreign city for Brazilians to visit is Orlando.

- For per capita internet users, Brazil is the most twittering nation in the world.

- Typically, Brazilians now spend a quarter of disposable income on debt payments. At the height of the US credit boom, by contrast, American households spent about 15 per cent.

- Since 1994, when Brazil finally conquered hyperinflation, the percentage of the population in extreme poverty has fallen from 23% to 8%.

- As a percentage of national income, Brazil spends the most of any country in the world on elections.

- Brazil spends the second most of any country (after the UK) on chocolate eggs during the Easter season.

- Over the past decade, the income of black Brazilians has increased by 40%, more than double the rate of white Brazilians.

- The Brazilian legislature has recently passed a law requiring underwear manufacturers to put labels with health warnings reminding wearers to have regular checkups for breast, uterine, and prostate cancer.
