The Pantanal

From Belo Horizonte, the next stop was the Pantanal -- a wetland the size of France that borders Paraguay and Bolivia. Its known for its diversity of wildlife. Morgan and I met two other Brazil Fulbrighters -- Aaron and Gaby -- for a couple of days of wildlife viewing in the bush.

Despite the chilly nights sleeping in hammocks, we had a great trip. Some of the highlights were horseback riding through swampland, catching and eating piranha, and chasing caiman.
